More than a finishing touch.
Cardamom is valued for its aromatic seeds. Green cardamom, Elettaria cardamomum, has a bright, citrus-like and gently sweet fragrance; black cardamom has a different, often smoky character. Ask us to confirm the variety and origin of the batch you order.
Whole pods, fresh possibilities
The pod protects the small aromatic seeds inside. Lightly crack a pod just before brewing or cooking, or grind the seeds for a smoother texture in baking. Whole pods, seeds and ground cardamom behave differently in recipes, so confirm the format you need.
Make a more fragrant cup
Gently crack one pod and steep with your usual tea, or simmer with milk and tea for a spiced chai. Cardamom also pairs beautifully with coffee and saffron. Start lightly and adjust to taste; a small quantity can make a noticeable difference.
Beyond drinks
Try the seeds in rice pudding, biscuits and fragrant buns, or add whole pods to rice and slow-cooked dishes. Count whole pods into a dish and remove them before serving, or let diners know they are present. Combine with cinnamon, citrus or nuts for a layered flavour.
What to ask before buying
Choose the variety, pod or ground format, quantity and intended use first. Ask about origin, pack weight, available batch details and the best-before date. Colour alone cannot prove freshness or purity; aroma, condition and documented handling also matter.
Care for the aroma
Keep cardamom in an airtight container away from heat, moisture and bright light. Grinding close to use helps preserve its aroma. Follow the storage and best-before guidance provided with the actual pack.
Food, tradition and wellbeing
Cardamom has a long history in food and traditional preparations. That history is not proof that a retail spice cures digestive problems, changes athletic performance or treats disease. Our cardamom is offered as a culinary ingredient, not a medicine, cosmetic or sports supplement.
A little more to know.
Can I use cardamom with saffron?+
Yes. They are a classic fragrant pairing in tea, rice and milk-based desserts. Use small amounts first so the cardamom does not overpower the more delicate saffron.
Is the cardamom grown in Afghanistan?+
Our Afghan-origin description applies to the saffron. Cardamom origin and variety are confirmed for the available batch; we do not imply that all products share the same origin.
Can I order for catering or a business?+
Send your product requirements, approximate quantity and destination. We can discuss current availability and a written quote. There is no minimum-order promise until the order is confirmed.
